About Kathryn
For more than 17 years, I have lived, worked, served, and raised my family in Redmond, Oregon. Our family is based on a foundation of belief that a service focused life is a fulfilled life. As a Redmond City Councilor, service-oriented leadership is at the core of who I am.
Redmond has given so much opportunity to my family, and serving our city has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. Whether I'm volunteering in the community, supporting our youth, working in our business community, or serving on council, I strive to give back to the place we call home.
Our family understands public service firsthand. In addition to my community commitments, my husband has dedicated 26 years to wildland firefighting, and together we've built our lives around the values of hard work, service, and resilience.
These experiences shape how I lead. Through collaboration and practical problem-solving, I am committed to delivering thoughtful, lasting results for Redmond

Campaign Priorities
Livable Communities
Redmond residents deserve to have safe, affordable, livable communities. I have actively sought out funding from County, State, and Federal sources to address critical housing and homeless issues.
This funding has been directed to organizations
including but not limited to:
-
Habitat for Humanity
-
Rooted Homes
-
North Point Vista
-
Oasis Village
-
Safe Parking
-
Shepherds House
-
Bethlehem Inn
I am a consistent voice for smart zoning and planning decisions that focus on access to infrastructure, defensible communities, and usable green spaces.
Public Safety and Community Resiliency
Central Oregon residents know that the threat of wildfire is no longer a distant risk, it's a yearly reality. As a member of the Executive Leadership Board of CORE3, I am working to provide the resources and multi-agency coordination necessary for effective disaster prevention and response in our region. In my role on Council, I have also directed funds for our new Redmond Public Safety building, provided direct support for wildfire survivors, and partnered with regional leaders to fund prevention programs that better protect our homes and spaces. I look forward to continuing to bring my vast knowledge, proven leadership and first-hand experience in disaster response to the City Council.
Supportive Care Access
As an advocate of the Central Oregon Disability Support Network I have participated in education programming focused on improving accessibility and inclusion for state parks, Deschutes County, and local service providers.
I have and will continue to advocated for access to Behavior Health Services in Central Oregon.
Recently, Redmond broke ground on a new mental health treatment facility (a strategic public-private partnership with the State of Oregon, Deschutes County and Jory Behavioral Health) to increase the availability of critically needed, high-quality mental health services, doubling Central Oregon's capacity for live-in care for adults experiencing severe mental illness.
Economic Development
As a long time Board Member of the Redmond Urban Renewal Agency and Downtown Urban Renewal Advisory Committees and in my work with the South Highway 97 Urban Renewal District, I have supported small businesses, improved the downtown Redmond occupancy rate, attracted new industries, and helped create family sustaining jobs.
